It’s surprising how many older male callers, usually widowed, will mention when their wives were alive they were swingers. It’s always existed, but it seems it might have been more popular in the sixties and seventies. You’d have more people you knew personally, since there was no internet to meet strangers on, and before AIDS it wasn’t as risky as it could be now. People will always have their fun, risky or not, but at least with swinging, there’s not the sneaking around behind your partners back. It’s all out in the open and usually in the same room, so it’s all out there and consensual. What’s odd to some is acceptable and normal to others.
