Tell Me What You Think

A surprising reason some men call phone sex lines is not for sex talk, but actual advice. If you’re not comfortable going to friends or family with your problem, where do you turn? You don’t need a psychiatrist just for advice. Wanting someone’s opinion doesn’t mean you’re crazy or need help from a mental health professional. Where do you turn? A bartender? A clergyman? It can honestly be difficult just to get someone’s opinion if they are involved in your life, especially if you’re married.

A man called today that’s married to an older woman, and she seems to have control over every area of his life, and he’s been content to let her have this control. He claimed to have anxiety issues to the point where he couldn’t hold down a job, so since she makes good money, she told him to just stay at home and do all the household chores. She makes all the decisions and even gives him a weekly allowance as if he was a child. He recently said he was left an inheritance and she’s been pressuring him to put it into their joint account, where she’d have full control over it. He wanted to know what to do.

I said to pull up your socks, get over your anxieties, go back to work and have some self respect and don’t let her run roughshod over you and every aspect of your life. He concluded it was good advice, but he sounded so submissive, I am doubting he’ll have the mental fortitude to put it into practice and things will likely go on as they have been. Some men are weak, and ones that are stronger will dominate them given the chance, just like she’s doing. No one put a gun to his head to get him to this point, he’s gone along willingly. It’s sad that people are reaching out to phone sex operators for what should be common sense advice they’d come up with on their own, but that is clearly not the case.
